John F. Kennedy
Having been born into a wealthy and political family, John Fitzgerald Kennedy, a naval war hero during World War II, continued his family tradition by campaigning to represent Boston in the U.S. House of Representatives. Kennedy ran in the Presidential Election of 1860 against Richard Nixon, which he won thus becoming the second youngest President of the United States. He became the first Irish-American and the only Catholic president. Many events took place during his presidency which include: the Bay of Pigs Invasion, the Cuban Missile Crisis, the Space Race, the building of the Berlin Wall, and the African American Civil Rights |
Movement. Kennedy was handsome and charismatic, which appealed to the public. On November 22, 1963 only a three years into his presidency, he was assassinated in Dallas, Texas.
