Jane Addams
Jane Addams is best known as being the founder of the Hull House, which was founded in 1899 in Chicago. The Hull House provided services to most immigrants and some of those who were in poverty. The Hull House helped immigrants by providing food, English classes, and ways to adapt to the American culture. Addams intended that the Hull House serve as an example for other settlement houses. |
