 Elizabeth Cady Stanton

Elizabeth Cady Stanton was an abolitionist, social activist, and a leading figure for women's rights. Alongside Lucretia Mott, she arranged the first womens rights convention in Seneca Falls (known as the Seneca Falls Convention, 1848). At the convention, she drafted the Declaration of Sentiments which argued for equality and women's suffrage. Stanton also worked alongside Susan B. Anthony. Together, they founded the National Women Suffrage Association (NWSA). Stanton made a strong influence in the fight for women's rights.
